It would be funny if in the old series, he went commando.

Going commando means you sleep naked or you walk around without underwear.

I havent seen the RE6 trailer (and i probabily wont), i have no interest in that series after the 5th game. so i cant compare this trailer to that.
i agree with Vampi's thoughts. i think that part where he puts on his clothes in mid air was a bit ridiculous, a bit like Bayonetta. however i think its one of those things where its just something fun at the beginning, hopefully it dosent reflect the tone during the rest of the game. personally i thought the E3 2011 trailer was the best so far. this was okay, it gave us some nice story exposure (no pun intended) without giving away anything we didnt already suspect. the real draw here was the reporter. he shows an emphasis on world and tone their trying to create.
the devil is in the details and i'm glad i got to see the Captivate gameplay. that was the real treat here. i think his personality in these demos is close to perfect, his joke at the end is funny, which is something rare in games.
A story which is identically experienced by every other player of a game is far less powerful than one that is unique to the individual.
I have the same feeling!
I like the personality of TGS 2010 Dante. He seemed more serious.
The latest one portrays him as a loose guy sleeping around with different women (you see bras) the night before hunter demon's attack. I feel really uncomfortable with it. It ruins this character indeed.
As if Dante will suddenly evolve from this easy-loose guy to a seriously-looking demon hunter.
I don't think this is an appropriate way to handle this character.
I know what both of you mean. i was expecting a more relatable character, similar to Nariko, Trip or Monkey. i just have to accept this character is not meant to be relatable in that type of way. he cant be too distant from the previous incarnations. which is fine, but please no campness. everything at the moment is too soon to tell really.
but i do like his personality quirks, that inuendo about church at the end of the Captivate demo was great. the part where he swears at Bob and that part where he knocks the soda out of the fat guys hand. hes dosent seem pretentious to me. hes simply reckless, he dosent give a toss. and this is something i like about the character.
thats what seperates him from the other protagonists at the moment. if you think about it we dont need another Bruce Wayne (Batman AA) or Nathan Drake, or Shepard, or Master Chief at the moment. Dante isnt meant to be a conventional hero with traditional qualities. hes a different hero, with a different set of motives and rational. hopefully this means Ninja Theory will offer us more with his character than previous installments! hes not camp, but i hope there is a balance to accomodate a serious progression for the character.
