Chinese developer (no idea who) trailer for an MMO game? seems more like an action game to me. There are some similarities with DmC, but in all fairness everyone already knows about how Chinese stuff (phones, gadgets, etc) have a tendancy to derive themselves from western counterparts. China has its own version of the iPhone for example.

I dont really think its that bad, its more amusing more than anything else. and if anything it shows why Capcom decided to give this to a western developer, the movement and design in that trailer is shocking!

Now that I think about it, with that blue hair that Dante wannabe kind of looks like the main character for Final Fantasy Versus XIII. You know, the one with all the swooshy swords.

But you have to think though if that train was going to crash, were those henchmen aware of that? And what about the driver was he intentionally going that way with full means to kill himself? Frankly I don't think that was in the job description of be an expendable villian-oh wait.

I have seen this kind of behavor before though. I know there's 6 billion people and ideas often will be similar. But it is a shame when people have to rip-off other material, even if it was intented as a spoof. Be inspired, but don't copy.

Its hard to accurately descibe something as plagiarious since everything shoutouts to something else.

It could be an intentional parody.

DMC didn't really start the pistoleer-craze, it boosted it because the person wielding was a total badass. It's hard to be original in this day and age really.

This kind of goes beyond copying a character's look and weapons though. I think it's more about the fact that this trailer ended in just about the exact same way as DmC's trailer did where Dante put his guns away before falling back...then continues to spin around before kicking himself off of the building into that action pose. It's TOO similar the way this guy does it.

That would be pretty cool if Strife did get two guns and a cocky sarcastic personality to seperate him from his brothers. It could be a tip of the hat to DMC as DMC did inspire Darksiders.
