Default What are the odds? DLC related.

    Of more DLC?

I love this game to death. I've played it twice. Thought Pigsy's Perfect 10 was a refreshing change in terms of gameplay. Didn't expect such a drastic change. Superb dlc in terms of length and substance.

I've enjoyed this game so much that now I'm trying to find the two remaining pre-order costumes. Albeit, unsuccessfully. I have the Classic Monkey skin. I even have an extra code, in case I come across someone else who has the Ninja or Robot DLC, but doesn't have Classic.

Anyway. What are the odds that these costumes will be released on the marketplace? I'd love to have them all. But at the rate my search is going, I won't. Guess I just waited too long to search for them. And if they were to be released on the marketplace, I'd happily pay for them. Just for the sake of having more reasons to play through the game.

I'd also love to see more DLC, ala Pigsy. But with the story effectively closed off to much more. And the Pigsy DLC covering Pigsy's backstory, I'd imagine that there really isn't too much more they could bring, in terms of story.

Anyway. If anyone has any info. Or if Ninja Theory themselves could shed some light, that'd be awesome. Because I'd love more reasons to keep playing this game. It's right up there with Beyond Good & Evil, and Oddworld Stranger's Wrath. Two of my favorite games of all time. Both, also, like Enslaved, criminally underrated.

Of more DLC? I'd say slim to none. Maybe there's a chance that they'll release the costumes as a pack or something for download but other than that I think Enslaved is through - maybe even for good :*(

    And I agree! Totally underrated

Actually, it seems like I might've spoken too soon. I just managed to snag a code for Ninja Monkey! Now all I need is a code for Sexy Robot Trip. And I still have a spare code for Classic Monkey. So if anyone wants to swap, just let me know.

As would I. There is loads that could be done with it, imo, although not via Pigsy.

Like I said, anything at this point would be welcome.

I seriously can't get enough of this game. I play, put it down. Play something else. But I always come back to this. No idea why. Generally, even with games I enjoy, I don't play them much (if at all) after I finish them up. And in this case, I did everything. Full 1250 gamerscore. But I still keep playing. Even Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, which was easily my 2010 game of the year, has been collecting dust since shortly after I finished it up.

Guess I must be a fan of post-apocalyptic adventure. Especially ones that don't see that future as a lifeless wasteland. But a world where man is simply no longer the master of his domain. And nature has taken over. Reminds me a lot of that history channel show about what the world would be like if humanity vanished off of the face of the Earth.

I'll admit, I was slightly disappointed with the end. (Spoilers Ahoy!) The narrative throughout the entire story was superb. And I honestly felt like the last few minutes just kind of fell apart. It made a certain kind of sense. But it also didn't. I mean, why kill those you're trying to save? If you're intentions are pure. Why try to harm those that oppose you? Why exterminate entire colonies? Why not try to reason with them? Superb game. But the end just didn't fit. That, and after hearing Andy Serkis deliver a brilliant performance as Monkey, I was slightly disappointed to hear him voicing a much weaker, slightly obscure character. His work on Monkey was fantastic, though. So the last bit is forgivable.

Anyway. On the topic of DLC. The Ninja Monkey outfit is incredible. It looks great. It completely takes the difficulty right out of the game. But it's really fun to run through, decimating every mech I come across. The Classic Monkey works great, too. But I'm not huge on the look. I was never a fan of Dragonball. So, aside from making Monkey a complete beast in combat, it doesn't really appeal to me. I'm really hoping I find the Trip DLC. Though I doubt I'd use it much. Don't care for the look at all. And with Ninja Monkey having the infinite Staff ammo, he's really the most useful. Not to mention the most fun. At this point, I just wanna be able to say that I got them all. I kind of collect rare DLC. Preorders, limited edition, and promotional stuff.

Anyway. I got to thinking about it. A prequel level would be amazing. I never read the comic. But it's a perfect excuse for more DLC. And there's also a huge gap between when they leave NYC and when they get to the compound. Prime opportunity to expand on both the story, and the relationship that Monkey and Trip develop. Chances, again, of ever seeing more DLC are pretty slim. But I'll continue to hope that there might still be some in the cards. Even costumes would be cool. Maybe some new ones for Trip. Anything more would be welcome. I've apparently become strangely addicted to Enslaved.

Even if it's all over. I'm sure I'll still play and appreciate this game for a long time.

Can't wait to see how the DMC reboot turns out. And what Ninja Theory has planned past that. They make great games.

Sorry for the late reply been swamped at work.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game but I found the storyline raised more questions than it answered. In context, the story seems to start halfway through and there is very little background fleshing out. I certainly agree over the ending, it remind me of when Neo meets the Architect in Matrix Reloaded, where the film bombardes with a lot of information in a very short space. Then there's the masks which made me wonder if the world you see and traverse through was the illusion and not what Pyramid was up to. I also agree over when you leave New York it opens up a big chunk of story that was never fleshed out.

Then there's the context of time Pyramid in-game (not Andy Serkis's video) looks decrpid and is being kept alive by the machine yet Monkey and Trip look quite young. When Monkey has the mask on at the end he's smiling, but to my mind he would have no memory of that, e.i when he's talking to Trip at the fishtank he comes from a small community...

Thats just a few examples... so I would certainly like to see some more dlc... and I do wonder in what direction the game would go if a sequel ever surfaces.

That show was actually a big inspiration for the game's look if I remember correctly.

    *Spoilers below*

One thing I liked about it is that it wasn't so clear cut similar to how Trip is portrayed as is the relationship between her and Monkey.

The reason they wiped out the colony - I always thought - was because Monkey and Trip destroyed their vessel at the beginning and they were just trying to clear up an resistance that may have posed a threat. Also, I would say his intentions weren't so pure but rather a bit selfish, desperate even (not saying he's entirely devoid of any good though). With that in mind, it made Trip's decision at the end a bit harder to gauge as well. I mostly liked the ending but I think it's misunderstood (maybe even I'm misunderstanding it*).

*Misunderstood in that I'm not sure they were exactly going for the matrix (was it pure virtual or was it just some hive mind like communication for living?) or not. I was actually disappointed that that was never brought up in any of the post interviews with the devs.

    Spoilers...

I would accept that but it could've done with touching upon as it would've added a sense of urgency to it. It also begs the question at the start of the game, what was Trip doing so far from home on her own in the first place? Then there's what she did to Monkey in order for her safety so why would she be on her own.. surely her dad wouldn't have allowed that...

The Matrix thing was just an example... of how certain films dump lots of info in short spaces and thats what the end of Enslaved felt like to me. But, you have the first film to go off of with the Matrix so its not too bad. Don't get me wrong, I liked the concept it just needed to fleshed about a bit over the course of the game rather than just being left right until the end. It gave a general idea of what Pyramid was about but no real sense of him. Consider Andrew Ryan's character in Bioshock when you gt to him you have a real sense of the man.

As you say things being misunderstood or somewhat open to interpretation which is my point, a lot of details felt a little too sketchy and left up in the air. I was half expecting something entirely different with the mask glitches only effecting the headband.

I never got the feeling that she was on her own. She says to Monkey for instance that they "only got a handful of them" so I always figured she was with some of her people at the time.

As for the matrix thing, I was more referring to how - before I ever even played the game - it was 'like the Matrix'. I'm guessing they meant in the way the people were portrayed at pyramid and what Monkey saw when he put on the mask. Sort of like they were living in a pure virtual world but I was never so sure. So perhaps yeah it was a bit too sketchy.

I just hope they release the pre-order costumes as dlc. I would think it wouldn't be that hard to do. Please Ninja Theory release the Enslaved pre-order costumes as dlc.
