Default Tameem Antoniades interview (Eurogamer)

Tameem Antoniades interview:

There's no multiplayer mode in Heavenly Sword as our focus was always to create an intense personal experience; it would have been too damn complex to deal with that as well," Antoniades told Eurogamer. "We did, however, develop the combat system using multiplayer test levels, as it's a great way of soak testing and balancing it."

"So who knows? Maybe we will decide to go down that route sometime soon. And when we do, it won't just be slapped-on to please marketing tick-boxes. You can be assured that we have our sights on multiplayer."

Here's the rest of the interview.

"Heavenly Sword is around 90 per cent complete at the moment, reckons Antoniades, with mainly testing and bug finding to do before its September launch. And he's confident that Ninja Theory has used the extended development time to really wrestle an impressive performance from Sony's new console.

"We are pushing it bloody hard - that's for sure!" he promised. "But this is our first-generation engine for PS3, so there's certainly a lot more in the machine to give. And, more importantly, there's more in us to give it."

We'll be bringing you our full interview with Tameem Antoniades tomorrow morning."

As you can see, the game is 90% complete , so we could hope to see something concrete soon, or at least at the next E3 in July.

Swipe 'em all Ninjas!

=O 90 percent? I'm amazed, and I can't wait for them to shock us all at the new E3 event...And THAT'S where they should show it, no sooner, only if they really want to.

Love the multi-player talk...you know if they can kick our ass if they could make it so that you can play online with 2 or more characters. So instead of splitting the screen at home. You can hook up with your friend(s) online and each have your big screen for yourself while your friend is kicking ass with you.

But yes, Heavenly Sword is beautiful anyway it comes.

Thank you Kurosaki Ichigo and Xibal for the interview

Well thats good news, its good to hear everything is going well with the game. Bring on tommorrow for the rest of the interview. As for multiplayer, that would be a great addition and would really set heavenly sword apart from the competition. Hopefully it will feature in a sequel along with what ever else you couldn't put into this instalment.

Which way do you intend to take with a multiplayer option for HS?
I can't imagine anything but a coop or something like arena figths with multiple adversaries, something like Kung Fu Fighting(great game).

Beside this, i'm exited for the single experience.
So what about a demo or video?E3 in July or sooner?

Eurogamer: What games would you say Heavenly Sword has most in common with? If we were lazy and trying to encourage a mate to buy it, our first impressions suggest it's Prince of Persia meets God of War. Is that on the money?

Tameem Antoniades: If you really want a small list of influences and inspirations, how about this: the poetic beauty of ICO, the dynamic action of Panzer Dragoon Orta, the extreme style of Devil May Cry, the depth of combat of Virtua Fighter, the visual emotion of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, the "wire-fu" style of Yuen Woo Ping, the over-the-top action of Kung Fu Hustle, the madness of Versus and the scale of Lord of the Rings.

Now that's one hell of a combination
