Every other game on the PS3 supports it apart from Resistance, Motorstorm and now HS. What can every other developer do that first party ones can't? Or is this actually something that Sony want you to do?

From very brief discussions with DeanoC, the reason we don't it is down to lacking the free VRAM required to upscale the 720p image. You'd have to ask Sony for information regarding the other titles.
Sucks that you have a 1080i set, and we really do feel for you. Lucky that 720p, and even 1080p sets are dropping in price all the time - I guess it's just one of the perils of being an early-adopter.
I wonder if the people buying HD-DVD players will end up feeling the same way?
